The Hub

The Hub in Dandenong

The Hub provides the perfect location to support those people wishing to become involved in their community and enjoy everything the City of Greater Dandenong has to offer. Located opposite the Plaza Shopping Centre and within walking distance to the new City Civic Centre, many participants enjoy taking advantage of the library and market.

Five participants currently volunteer for the council’s Meals on Wheels service. One participant is now riding his horse independently at Riding for the Disabled and, more recently, five participants have commenced dance lessons to participate in a Presentation Ball.

The services on offer at The Hub include:

• Men’s Shed
• literacy and numeracy training
• public transport use and travel training
• swimming
• community-based courses
• cooking
• volunteering for the local council
• personal shopping
• budgeting
• work experience.

The best things about The Hub are:

• we promote opportunities for individuals to link into their local community
• there is great access to public transport – we are close to the Dandenong train station and bus stops
• we are within walking distance to the Dandenong Neighbourhood House, Dandenong Market and the new Council Civic Centre and Library.
